Still Summer

We haven't really been up to much the last 2 weeks. One day we went with some friends to Viriginia City to swim in their community pool. It was nice and not crowded! Loved that! The kids really had fun while I finished Eclipse. Thanks, Heussers for inviting us. Since then we've been on a couple bike rides, gone to the library, and played at a couple of fun parks.

Played at the Workmans. They got a trampoline and to keep cool...we put a sprinkler underneath it. F learned to do a front flip. He was so proud of himself. I would be too if I was only 3 and doing flips. We had a great time. Thanks, Jenni.

K had an Orthodontist appointment and got new colored bands put on. Blue and Purple. She loves them.

Today, we went with the Heussers, Paulsons, Rosses, and Thomassens to Sand Harbor...in Tahoe. Getting there was long and F kept asking, 'How long till we get there, Mom?' Well we finally got there and waited in line to see 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' put on by the Shakespear Youth Company. It was so cute and funny. The kids caught more than I thought they would. They all like the same actor. He was bald and had a New York accent and in the play he was....um....one of the actors in the play that was going to be put on for the Duke and his fiance. I can't remember his name. He was very funny. We were all laughing. It was a good play. Then it was off to the beach. I really liked this beach...harbor. The water was so pretty. We were surrounded by huge boulders that kids could climb on or jump off of into the water. F, M, and A enjoyed playing in the sand the most. But they also went on the raft and jumped off the smaller boulders. We stayed all afternoon and had lunch and lots of snacks. We had such a great day. Getting there is the hardest part but once you're there...it's soooo fun! I think we might be taking family pics here in the fall. It is so pretty and perfect for family pictures.

Love that you took your kids to a shakespeare play. Before I got married I would go every year to the Shakespearen festival and I love them!

Sounds like a great way to be spending the summer!
Cobbler recipe is so easy
Place in dutch oven in this order
1 lg can peaches(mostly drained)
1 1/2 boxes yellow cake mix
brown sugar layered over cake mix(you can use as much or as little as you like, the more the better)
cinnamon & nutmeg- sprinkled on top
1 can of sprite
cook for about 45 minutes, but check may cook faster. Enjoy!
Let me know what you think!

Thanks for the link to your blog! Eden was here when I brought it up and she said, "The Makinleys!" :P Ha! We'll have to set up a play date.
I also really liked your photography blog. Very nice work.
Having grown up in a land-locked state, I had no idea how much I would love the beach. And even though Nevada is land-locked, too, Tahoe may be better since it's fresh water and mountains.

Memory...the day you dropped by my house just after M had been called as the Bishop. You brought some yummy CHOCOLATE cupcakes and a note with a scripture I keep with me always. I read those words often. You were such a great support to me at an overwhelming time in (my)our lives. We cried together and I'll always remember your thoughtfulness that day! THANK YOU!! Love, J

I think I have your wrong e-mail address. We just came back from the JW resort and spa in Phoenix and thought of you and Brandon, since it was a Marriot resort. Talk about a swanky place...I told Allen I could get use to this living.
